mayfairgrin's Spider & the Moon is a 31-minute composition which carries the listener on a textural tour through a varied soundscape. The strength of this work is the skillful use of processed acoustic instruments (djembe, bowed guitar, environmental sounds) woven into a richly illustrative tapestry that engages the mind without overstimulating it. Here sounds happen in washes and highlights, like some kind of impressionistic watercolor painting. It is simultaneously dark and uplifing.
mayfairgrin is part of the Mannequin Oddio Media cooperative, which you ought to visit and explore. This is his first release on Webbed Hand Records.

Subject: Very cool!
Shimmering surfaces, phrases handled with agility-- sounds woven into a psychedelic web-- all suffused with a positive energy. Great!
